Joe Don Rooney

Joe Don Rooney, born on September 13, 1975, in Baxter Springs, KS, is an American musician known for his role as the lead guitarist and high octave harmony singer in the country pop trio Rascal Flatts. With the band, he played the electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, as well as mandolin and banjo. Rooney draws inspiration from guitarists such as Chet Atkins, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck. Before joining Rascal Flatts in 1999, Rooney was a part of the band Uncle Thumbtack and played in Chely Wright's band. In addition to his music career, Rooney signed Dylan Brady to an artist development deal in 2016.
