Joe Flaherty Biography
Joseph Flaherty, born on June 21, 1941, is an American actor, writer, and comedian. He is best known for his work on the Canadian sketch comedy show SCTV from 1976 to 1984, where he also served as a writer. Flaherty also gained recognition for his portrayal of Harold Weir on the TV series Freaks and Geeks and his role as Donald the heckler in the film Happy Gilmore. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Flaherty started his comedy career with the Second City Theater in Chicago. He later moved to Toronto to help establish the Toronto Second City theatre troupe, where he was one of the original writer/performers on SCTV.
