Joe Fowler
Joe Fowler (July 9, 1894 – December 6, 1993) was a rear admiral of the United States Navy. He attended the United States Naval Academy and earned a master's degree in Naval Architecture from M.I.T. Fowler retired from the Navy in 1948, with a brief recall during the Korean War. In 1952, he was appointed by President Truman to reduce wasteful military spending. In 1954, Fowler was hired by Walt Disney to oversee the construction of Disneyland, starting with the paddle steamer Mark Twain. He served as the General Manager of Disneyland for its first 10 years and assisted with the construction of Walt Disney World. Fowler retired after his contributions to the Disney projects.
