Joe Keery

Joseph David Keery, born on April 24, 1992, is an American actor and musician. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Steve Harrington in the popular science fiction series Stranger Things, which premiered in 2016. Keery also appeared in the comedy film Free Guy in 2021. In addition to acting, Keery releases music under the stage name Djo and was previously a member of the psychedelic rock band Post Animal. He was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and is the second of five children. Keery attended River Valley Charter School and Newburyport High School before studying at The Theatre School at DePaul University, where he graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.
