Joe Perry

Joseph Anthony Pereira, born on September 10, 1950, is an American musician known professionally as Joe Perry. He is best recognized as the founding member, lead guitarist, and occasional lead vocalist of the rock band Aerosmith. Perry also has his own solo band called the Joe Perry Project and is a member of the all-star band Hollywood Vampires alongside Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp. Rolling Stone ranked him 84th in their list of The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. In 2001, Perry was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Aerosmith. He received the ASCAP Founders Award and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame alongside Steven Tyler in 2013. Perry co-authored a book called 'Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith' with David Ritz, which was released in October 2014. Perry was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and grew up in Hopedale, Massachusetts. His father was of Portuguese descent from Madeira.
