Joel David Moore (born September 25, 1977) is an American character actor and director. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Moore studied acting in college before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a film career. He gained recognition for his role as Owen Dittman in the 2004 comedy Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. Moore has also appeared in films such as Grandma's Boy (2006), Art School Confidential (2006), Hatchet (2006), and James Cameron's Avatar (2009). He played the role of Colin Fisher on the Fox series Bones from 2008 to 2017. In addition to acting, Moore has directed films including Spiral (2007) and Youth in Oregon (2016).
