Joel Polis

Joel Polis (born October 3, 1951) is an American television, film, and stage actor. With over one hundred television and film appearances, Polis has built a successful career in the entertainment industry. He made his film debut in the 1982 science fiction film The Thing, playing the character Fuchs. Throughout his career, Polis has appeared in various popular television series, including Cheers, Alien Nation, Northern Exposure, Star Trek: Voyager, Roseanne, Seinfeld, Chicago Hope, Boston Legal, and CSI. He also had a recurring role as Gary, the mischievous owner of Gary's Olde Towne Tavern, in the television series Cheers. Polis has showcased his talent in theater productions at well-known venues such as the Astor Place Theatre, Hartford Stage, Old Globe Theater, and Pasadena Playhouse. He has also made a guest appearance on NCIS.
