Joel Siegel (July 7, 1943 – June 29, 2007) was an American film critic, radio disc jockey, and advertising copywriter. He was best known for his role as a film critic on the ABC morning news show Good Morning America for over 25 years. Siegel won multiple Emmy Awards during his career. Born to a Jewish family in Los Angeles, he graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles. Siegel actively participated in the Civil Rights Movement and worked as a joke writer for Senator Robert F. Kennedy. He had a diverse range of jobs throughout the 1960s before establishing himself as a prominent film critic.
