Joel Silver

Joel Silver (born July 14, 1952) is an American film producer. Born and raised in South Orange, New Jersey, he attended Columbia High School before completing his undergraduate studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Silver began his career at Lawrence Gordon Productions, eventually becoming the company's president of motion pictures. He gained his first screen credit as the associate producer on The Warriors and went on to produce successful action films such as Commando (1985), the Lethal Weapon franchise, the first two films of the Die Hard series, and many more. Known for his contributions to the film industry, Silver has had a prominent role in shaping the action genre.
