    Joey Soloway (born Jill Soloway; September 26, 1965) is an American television creator, showrunner, director, and writer. They are known for their work in the entertainment industry, including creating, writing, executive producing, and directing the Amazon original series Transparent, for which they won two Emmys. Soloway also directed and wrote the film Afternoon Delight, which earned them the Best Director award at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, they have been involved in producing the acclaimed series Six Feet Under. Soloway identifies as non-binary and gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns. They were born in Chicago, Illinois and have a sibling, Faith Soloway, who is a Boston-based musician and performer.
