John Bach Biography
John Bach (born 5 June 1946) is a British-born New Zealand actor known for his work on stage, television, and film spanning over four decades. While he was born in the United Kingdom, Bach has spent the majority of his career living and working in New Zealand. International audiences may recognize him as the Gondorian Ranger Madril in the second and third films of The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003). He has also had prominent roles in New Zealand television, such as playing Detective Inspector John Duggan in the Duggan telemovies and television series, and appearing in the long-running soap opera Close to Home. Additionally, Bach has made appearances in Australian productions, including the science fiction series Farscape.
