John Bennett Perry Biography
John Bennett Perry (born January 4, 1941) is an American actor, singer, and former model. He gained recognition for his appearance as the clean-shaven 'sailor' in the Old Spice commercials of the 1970s and 1980s. Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts to Alton L. Perry and Maria Bennett. He attended St. Lawrence University and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. Perry has been married twice, first to Suzanne Langford, with whom he had a son, actor Matthew Perry. Perry's second wife is Debbie, with whom he has a daughter born in 1982. In addition to his commercial work, Perry has also appeared on stage in the musical 'Now Is the Time for All Good Men' and had a small role in the film 'Cabaret' (1972).
