John Christopher McGinley (born August 3, 1959) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Perry Cox in Scrubs, Bob Slydell in Office Space, Captain Hendrix in The Rock, Sergeant Red O'Neill in Platoon, Marv in Wall Street, FBI agent Ben Harp in Point Break, and serial killer Edgler Foreman Vess in the TV miniseries Intensity. McGinley has also written and produced for television and film. He is an author, a board member and international spokesman for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, and a spokesman for the National Down Syndrome Society. McGinley was born in New York City and raised in Millburn, New Jersey. He attended Millburn High School and studied acting.
