John Edward

John Edward McGee Jr., born on October 19, 1969, is an American television personality, author, and self-proclaimed psychic medium. He gained popularity and controversy in the United States with his shows on the Sci-Fi Channel, premiering in July 2000, and We TV since May 2006. Born in Glen Cove, New York, Edward is the only son of an Irish-American police officer and an Italian-American working mother. Although he was raised practicing Roman Catholicism, Edward no longer practices the faith but still feels connected to God and his Catholic roots. At the age of 15, Edward, who was initially skeptical of psychic abilities, had a significant shift in belief.
