John Elway Biography
John Albert Elway Jr. (born June 28, 1960) is an American former professional football quarterback who spent his entire 16-year career with the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). After retiring as a player, Elway held various front office positions with the Broncos for 11 years, eventually becoming the general manager. He is the only person associated with all three of the Broncos' Super Bowl victories. Elway is widely considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. At the time of his retirement in 1999, he held the most victories by a starting quarterback and was the second most prolific passer in NFL history. Elway was also a standout rusher, scoring rushing touchdowns in four different Super Bowls, a feat matched only by Thurman Thomas. During his college career at Stanford University, Elway set numerous passing records.
