John F. O'Donohue is an American actor and former police officer known for his role as Sgt. Eddie Gibson in the television series NYPD Blue. Prior to his acting career, O'Donohue served as a twenty-year veteran of the New York Police Department. He made his acting debut as an armed guard in Knots Landing in 1991 and gained recognition for his role in the critically acclaimed Ben Stiller Show. O'Donohue has made appearances in popular shows such as Diagnosis: Murder, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Brooklyn South, and The West Wing. As Sgt. Eddie Gibson, he became a regular character in the opening credits of NYPD Blue starting in the second half of the eleventh season.
