John Franklyn-Robbins Biography
John Franklyn-Robbins (14 December 1924 – 21 March 2009) was an English character and voice actor. He was a prolific Shakespearean actor, having trained at RADA and worked at the Manchester Library Theatre and the Bristol Old Vic. He played various roles in both the West End and Broadway. Franklyn-Robbins appeared in classic television series such as The Avengers, The Baron, Z-Cars, Special Branch, Callan, I, Claudius, Doctor Who, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He also worked for the BBC and ITV. His film credits include Asylum (1972), Overlord (1975), Mrs. Dalloway (1997), and The Golden Compass (2007). He played Giuseppe Garibaldi in an episode of The Onedin Line (1972).
