John Grisham

John Grisham is an American novelist, lawyer, and former member of the Mississippi House of Representatives. Born on February 8, 1955, he is best known for his bestselling legal thrillers. Grisham has an impressive track record, with 37 consecutive number-one fiction bestsellers and over 300 million copies of his books sold worldwide. Alongside Tom Clancy and J.K. Rowling, he is one of only three authors to have sold two million copies on the first printing. Grisham graduated from Mississippi State University and earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He practiced criminal law for around a decade and served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1983 to 1990. His debut novel, A Time to Kill, was published in 1989 and later adapted into a film.
