John Holiday

John Thomas Holiday Jr. (born March 31, 1985) is an American operatic countertenor known for his repertoire in Baroque and contemporary composers. He has performed in staged opera, opera in concert, works for voice and orchestra, and experimental mixed-media. Holiday has participated in several world premieres and has worked with opera companies in the United States, as well as touring with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and performing in Shanghai and various European cities. Additionally, he sings gospel, pop, and jazz. Holiday gained visibility as a contestant on season 19 of NBC's The Voice. Born in Rosenberg, Texas, he learned to play piano and organ at a young age, inspired by his grandmother, who was a pianist and music director at a church.
