John Burke Krasinski is an American actor and filmmaker, born on October 20, 1979. He rose to fame for his portrayal of Jim Halpert in the NBC sitcom The Office, where he also served as a producer and occasional director. Krasinski received several accolades for his work on the show, including four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. He studied theatre arts at Brown University and the National Theater Institute. Krasinski has appeared in a variety of films, such as License to Wed, Leatherheads, Something Borrowed, and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. He has also directed and starred in films like Brief Interviews with Hideous Men and The Hollars. In 2018, Krasinski gained critical acclaim for co-writing, directing, and starring in the film A Quiet Place.
