John Lasseter Biography
John Alan Lasseter (born January 12, 1957) is an American filmmaker, animator, and voice actor. He is currently the head of animation at Skydance Animation. Lasseter began his career as an animator with The Walt Disney Company before joining Lucasfilm, where he contributed to the groundbreaking use of CGI animation. In 1986, he became part of Pixar when the Graphics Group of Lucasfilm was sold to Steve Jobs. As executive producer, Lasseter oversaw all of Pixar's films and directed several, including Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Cars, and Cars 2. Additionally, he served as the chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Disneytoon Studios, as well as the Principal Creative Advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering.
