John Litel
John Beach Litel (December 30, 1892 – February 3, 1972) was an American film and television actor. Born in Albany, Wisconsin, Litel enlisted in the French Army during World War I and was twice decorated for bravery. After returning to the U.S., he pursued a career in acting, studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Litel appeared in various Broadway productions, including Sweet Aloes, Hell Freezes Over, and Before Morning. He began appearing in films in 1929 and became part of the Warner Bros. Stock Company in the 1930s. Known for playing supporting roles, he appeared in over 200 films, often portraying hard-nosed cops and district attorneys. Litel also portrayed Carson Drew, Nancy Drew's attorney father, in the Nancy Drew film series.
