John Mahoney Biography
John Mahoney (June 20, 1940 – February 4, 2018) was an English-American actor known for his role as retired police officer Martin Crane on the sitcom Frasier (1993–2004). Mahoney began his career in Chicago with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, later earning the Clarence Derwent Award for Most Promising Male Newcomer in 1986. He also won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in the Broadway revival of The House of Blue Leaves. Mahoney's film roles included Moonstruck (1987), Tin Men (1987), Eight Men Out (1988), Say Anything... (1989), Barton Fink (1991), The Hudsucker Proxy (1994), and many others.
