John Matuszak Biography
John Daniel Matuszak (October 25, 1950 – June 17, 1989), known as "Tooz," was an American football defensive end in the NFL and later became an actor. He was the first overall pick in the 1973 NFL Draft and played most of his career with the Oakland Raiders, winning two Super Bowls. Matuszak also competed in the 1978 World's Strongest Man competition, placing ninth. As an actor, he appeared in films like North Dallas Forty (1979), Caveman (1981), and The Goonies (1985). Matuszak's biography, Cruisin' with the Tooz, was published in 1987. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and tragically lost both his brothers to cystic fibrosis at a young age.
