John McCook Biography
John Thomas McCook (born June 20, 1944) is an American actor known for his work in television soap operas. He gained prominence portraying the character Lance Prentiss on The Young and the Restless from 1975 to 1980. McCook's breakthrough came when he was discovered by Jack Warner while performing in a production of West Side Story. He signed to Universal Studios before serving in the US Army for two years. Since March 1987, McCook has played the role of Eric Forrester on the popular soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. In 2022, he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series after four nominations. McCook is one of the longest-serving actors on the show, alongside Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan).
