John McEnery

John McEnery (1 November 1943 – 12 April 2019) was an English actor and writer. Born in Birmingham, he trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and joined the National Theatre company in 1966. His first notable screen role was as Mercutio in Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA Award. McEnery also starred in the 1970 film Bartleby and had a major role in Gérard Brach's The Boat on the Grass. Throughout his career, he showcased his talent on stage and screen, leaving a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
