John Paul DeJoria

John Paul Jones DeJoria (born April 13, 1944) is an American entrepreneur, self-made billionaire, and philanthropist. He is best known as a co-founder of the Paul Mitchell line of hair products and The Patrón Spirits Company. Born in Los Angeles, California, DeJoria experienced a challenging childhood with his parents divorcing when he was young. He and his brother were sent to a foster home during the week to ease financial burdens. DeJoria's journey to success started with selling Christmas cards and newspapers as a child. He later served in the United States Navy before working various jobs. Today, he is recognized as a living example of the American Dream, having risen from homelessness to creating successful businesses.
