John Pienaar
John Adrian Pienaar is a British journalist known for his work as the deputy political editor for BBC News. Born on October 2, 1956, in Middlesex, Pienaar's parents, Eric and Johanna Pienaar, hailed from South Africa. He attended Bromley Technical High School in London before receiving his NCTJ training at Highbury College, Portsmouth. Pienaar's journalism career began at the South London Press, and he later worked as an Old Bailey correspondent. He worked as a political correspondent for The Independent, the Press Association, and joined the BBC in 1992. Pienaar served as the chief political correspondent for Radio 5 Live and hosted the show Pienaar's Politics on Sunday mornings. He also co-hosted Question Time Extra Time on BBC One.
