John Tobias is an American comic book artist, graphic designer, video game designer, and writer. He gained fame for co-creating the highly successful Mortal Kombat series alongside Ed Boon. Before his foray into the gaming industry, Tobias showcased his artistic talent as an artist for The Real Ghostbusters comic book series. Inspired by his love for comics, he honed his skills by attending weekend courses at the Art Institute of Chicago during his high school years. Initially pursuing a career as a comic book artist, the advancements in graphics technology led him to the world of video games. With his creative genius, Tobias crafted the storyline, themes, and settings of the early Mortal Kombat games, leaving an indelible mark on the franchise.
