John Towey

John Madden Towey (born February 13, 1940) is an American actor and director. He studied acting and directing at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and received a B.F.A. degree in directing in 1967. Towey has acted in notable theater companies such as the Arena Stage in Washington D.C., the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, and The Public Theater in New York. In 1990, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. In addition to his work in acting, Towey is a classically trained pianist and has performed over 100 programs introducing classical music to grade schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. He also gives piano concerts at retirement homes throughout Southern California.
