John Vernon Biography
John Keith Vernon (February 24, 1932 – February 1, 2005) was a Canadian actor who achieved initial television stardom in Canada before making a career in Hollywood. He is best known for his roles as Dean Wormer in Animal House, the Mayor in Dirty Harry, and Fletcher in The Outlaw Josey Wales. Born as Adolphus Raymondus Vernon Agopsowicz in Zehner, Saskatchewan, Vernon was of Armenian, German, and Polish descent. He attended St. Joseph's School and Campion College in Regina, Saskatchewan, where his acting career began. Throughout his career, Vernon appeared in numerous movies and TV shows, leaving a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
