Johnny Gill Jr. (born May 22, 1966) is an American singer and songwriter. He gained prominence as the sixth and final member of the R&B/pop group New Edition and was also a part of the supergroup LSG, alongside Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat. With a successful solo career, Gill has released eight albums, selling over 15 million copies worldwide. Born in Washington, D.C. to a Baptist minister father and a mother named Annie Mae Gill, he began singing at the age of five in a family gospel group. Gill attended various schools including Kimball Elementary, Sousa Junior High, and Duke Ellington School of the Arts.
