Johnny Weir, born on July 2, 1984, is an American figure skater and television commentator. He is a two-time Olympian, having participated in the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics. Weir has achieved notable success in his career, including winning the 2008 World bronze medal, being a two-time Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, and becoming the 2001 World Junior Champion. He has also won the U.S. National championship three times consecutively from 2004 to 2006. In addition to his figure skating accomplishments, Weir was the first American to win the Cup of Russia in 2007. Weir was born and raised in Quarryville, Pennsylvania, and began figure skating at the age of 12 after a successful run in equestrian competitions.
