Joi Lansing Biography
Joi Lansing (April 6, 1929 – August 7, 1972) was an American model, film and television actress, and nightclub singer. Known for her pin-up photos and roles in B-movies, she gained prominence for her role in the famous opening 'tracking shot' in Orson Welles' 1958 crime drama Touch of Evil. Often compared to Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren, Lansing was frequently cast in similar roles. She was known for her figure (34D bust) and was often seen in skimpy costumes and bikinis. Despite this, she never posed nude. Lansing was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jack Glen Brown and Virginia Grace Brown, and she was later known by her stepfathers' surnames, Wassmansdorff and Loveland.
