Joseph Jon Bruno (November 17, 1946 – April 23, 2021) was an American Episcopal bishop and former police officer. Born in Los Angeles on November 17, 1946, Bruno was raised as a Roman Catholic and attended local city schools. He held a license in criminology from California State University, Long Beach, and a bachelor's degree in physical education from the California State University, Los Angeles. Bruno later earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Virginia Theological Seminary. Prior to his ordination as a priest in 1978, Bruno worked as a police officer in Burbank, California. He served as the sixth Episcopal Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles until his death on April 23, 2021.
