Jonathan Stevens 'Jon' Corzine (born January 1, 1947) is an American financial executive and retired politician. He served as a United States Senator from New Jersey from 2001 to 2006 and the 54th governor of New Jersey from 2006 to 2010. Corzine ran for a second term as governor but lost to Republican Chris Christie. Prior to his political career, Corzine worked at Goldman Sachs. After leaving politics, he served as the CEO of MF Global from 2010 until its collapse in 2011. Corzine was born in Taylorville, Illinois, and grew up on a small family farm in Willey Station, Illinois near Taylorville.
