Jon Meacham is an American writer, reviewer, historian, and presidential biographer. Born on May 20, 1969, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he has made significant contributions to the literary and journalistic world. Meacham served as the Canon Historian of the Washington National Cathedral starting from November 7, 2021. Prior to this, he had a successful career as an executive editor and executive vice president at Random House. Meacham is a renowned author of several books, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning 'American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House' (2009). He has also worked as a contributing writer for The New York Times Book Review and a contributing editor for Time magazine. Furthermore, Meacham held the Carolyn T. and Robert M. Rogers Endowed Chair in American Presidency at Vanderbilt University.
