Jon Rua

Jon Rua (born August 14, 1983) is an American actor, singer, and choreographer. He is best known for his roles in Broadway musicals such as Hamilton, In the Heights, The SpongeBob Musical, and Hands on a Hardbody. Rua was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and grew up in nearby Linden. He graduated from Linden High School in 2001, where he participated in the musical theatre program and began dancing socially. Rua received a B.A. in Communication and Public Relations from Rutgers University. He started his career by joining a dance company as an unpaid commitment and later became a choreographer. Rua has also worked as a creative consultant for the musical SpongeBob SquarePants.
