Jonathan Ames
Jonathan Ames (born March 23, 1964) is an American author and television creator. He has written novels and comic memoirs, including The Extra Man and You Were Never Really Here, which were later adapted into films. Ames is known for his self-deprecating tales of his sexual misadventures in his New York Press columns during the late '90s and early 2000s. He also created two television series: Bored to Death (HBO) and Blunt Talk (STARZ). Ames, who has a long-time interest in boxing, has occasionally appeared in the ring as 'The Herring Wonder'. Raised in Oakland, New Jersey, he is Jewish and holds an English degree from Princeton University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in fiction from Columbia University.
