Jonathan Hugh Gascoyne-Cecil (22 February 1939 – 22 September 2011), known as Jonathan Cecil, was an English actor. He was born on 22 February 1939 in Westminster, London, the son of Lord David Cecil and the grandson of the 4th Marquess of Salisbury. Cecil was educated at Eton and New College, Oxford, where he studied modern languages. He was a member of the Oxford University Dramatic Society and performed in various plays. Cecil's early acting career included roles in theatre productions and appearances in films and television shows. He was known for his versatile performances and appeared in a variety of genres throughout his career.
