Jonathan Groff Biography
Jonathan Drew Groff (born March 26, 1985) is an American actor and singer known for his work in Broadway productions. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Melchior Gabor in the original production of Spring Awakening (2006–08), receiving a Tony Award nomination. Groff also appeared as King George III in the original production of Hamilton (2015), earning another Tony Award nomination. He currently stars in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along. On screen, Groff made his film debut in Taking Woodstock (2009) and had a recurring role as Jesse St. James in the musical-comedy series Glee (2009–15). He also voiced characters in Disney's Frozen franchise. Groff was the lead in the HBO series Looking (2014–15).
