Jonelle Allen Biography
Jonelle R. Allen is an American actress, singer, and dancer from Harlem, New York. Beginning her professional career in the late 1960s, Allen has appeared in films, Broadway productions, and television shows. In 1972, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in the musical Two Gentlemen of Verona. Born and raised in the Sugar Hill section of Harlem, Allen started performing at a young age and attended the Professional Children's School. She made her Broadway debut at six years old and also appeared on the local children's television series The Merry Mailman. Allen has made notable contributions to both stage and screen.
