Joseph C. Phillips (born January 17, 1962) is an American actor, writer, and conservative Christian commentator. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Martin Kendall on the long-running NBC sitcom The Cosby Show, and as Justus Ward on the soap opera General Hospital. Phillips began his career in theatre after graduating from the Professional Theatre Training Program at New York University. He appeared in various theatre productions and starred in the world premiere of Toni Morrison's Dreaming Emmett in 1986. In addition to his television roles, Phillips has also worked on radio and television commercials. He is known for his conservative Christian views and commentary.
