Joseph Marcell Biography
Joseph Marcell is a British actor and comedian, born on August 14, 1948 in Saint Lucia. He is best known for his role as Geoffrey Butler, the butler on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which aired from September 1990 to May 1996. Marcell moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 9 and grew up in Peckham, South London. He studied speech and dance at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Marcell has appeared in various productions, including Othello and A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He also served on the board of the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.
