Joseph Wiseman Biography
Joseph Wiseman (May 15, 1918 – October 19, 2009) was a Canadian-American actor known for his work in theatre, film, and television. He gained recognition for his portrayal of the villain Julius No in the first James Bond film, Dr. No, released in 1962. Wiseman also played Manny Weisbord in the TV series Crime Story and had a successful career on Broadway. Born in Montreal, Canada, he was raised in New York City. Wiseman began performing in summer stock at the age of 16 and eventually became a professional actor. He made his Broadway debut in 1938 and appeared in numerous productions, including In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer in 1968.
