Josh Pais is an American actor and acting coach born on June 21, 1958, in New York City. He is known for his appearances in various Hollywood films such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990), Music of the Heart (1999), Assassination of a High School President (2008), I Saw the Light (2015), and Motherless Brooklyn (2019). Pais has also showcased his talent on the small screen, appearing in nine episodes of the show Ray Donovan. Additionally, he directed the 2002 documentary 7th Street, which depicts the lives of people living on the street where he grew up in Alphabet City, Manhattan. Pais is the son of Lila Lee Atwill, a painter and poet, and Abraham Pais, a Dutch-born physicist, professor, and writer of Portuguese Jewish descent.
