Joy-Ann M. Lomena-Reid, professionally known as Joy Reid, is an American cable television host, MSNBC national correspondent, liberal political commentator, and author. She is best known for hosting the weekly MSNBC morning show, AM Joy. Reid has emerged as a prominent figure in the anti-Trump 'resistance' and is recognized for her insightful political commentary. She is the daughter of immigrants, with her father hailing from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and her mother being a college professor and nutritionist from Guyana. Reid has authored the book 'The Man Who Sold America: Trump and the Unraveling of the American Story.' In 2020, she began hosting 'The ReidOut,' a Washington-based weeknight show on MSNBC.
