Joyce Brothers (1927-2013) was an American psychologist, television personality, advice columnist, and writer. She gained fame in 1955 as the winner of the top prize on the game show The $64,000 Question. This success led to her hosting various advice columns and television shows, making her a pioneer in the field of pop psychology. Brothers is credited with normalizing psychological concepts for the American mainstream and became the 'face of psychology' for many. Her syndicated columns appeared in newspapers and magazines for almost 40 years, including a monthly column for Good Housekeeping. Brothers also appeared in various television roles, both as herself and in fictional roles that parodied her psychologist persona.
