Judith Ivey Biography
Judith Lee Ivey (born September 4, 1951) is an American actress and theatre director. She is best known for her work in both film and theatre. Ivey has won two Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her performances in Steaming (1981) and Hurlyburly (1984). She has also received nominations for Best Actress In A Play for Park Your Car in Harvard Yard (1992) and Best Featured Actress in a Play for The Heiress. Ivey made her big screen debut in the 1984 romantic comedy film, The Lonely Guy, and went on to appear in several comedy and drama films. She has also had notable television roles, including the leading role in the NBC sitcom Down Home (1990-91) and Bonnie Jean 'BJ' Poteet in the final season of CBS sitcom Designing Women (1992-93).
