Judith Jones
Judith Jones (née Bailey; March 10, 1924 – August 2, 2017) was an American writer and editor, best known for rescuing The Diary of Anne Frank from the reject pile and championing Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. She joined Alfred A. Knopf in 1957 as an assistant to Blanche Knopf and worked on translations of French writers. Jones later became a senior editor and vice president at Knopf before retiring in 2011. She also authored cookbooks and memoirs. Jones received numerous lifetime achievement awards, including the James Beard Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
